If you have an old phone that you no longer use, it’s time to remove it from your home Google account. This guide will show you how to remove a phone from your account using the Google search bar and the Google app. To remove a phone from your account:

  1. Open the Google search bar and type “remove phone.”
  2. The Remove Phone window will open.
  3. Scroll down and select the phone you want to remove from your account.
  4. Click on the Remove button.

If the red button does not appear in the Device activity section of your Google account, go to Google Security Checkup and expand Your devices. Select the option by tapping on the 3 dots on the side of the device you wish to delete on its left-hand side.

On the home screen, tap the menu button for each device you wish to remove from your trusted devices list. Select Sign out from the menu and a confirmation box will appear to confirm that you want to delete the device from your trusted devices list.

Go to your Google Account’s Phone section. Select Delete next to your phone number. Remove the number. Go to your Google Account’s Recovery phone page and re-add it. To continue using your number in other Google products, go to those services and re-add it.
