If you are using the iPhone to communicate with friends and family, then it is important to keep Messenger active. However, if you no longer want to use Messenger, there are a few steps that you can take in order to remove it from your iPhone. First, open the Settings app and select the General category. Then, under “Privacy”, select the “Messenger” option. Next, click on the “Delete” button and confirm your deletion by clicking on the “x” next to it. Now that Messenger has been removed from your iPhone, you will need to set up a new account in order to continue using it.
You are not invisible after uninstalling the Messenger app. You may still interact with me on Messenger, and folks can still contact you. You will not be notified about it since the program isn’t installed on your phone. But if you reinstall or use the desktop version, they will become visible to you again.
