If you’re like most people, Facebook is a part of your desktop background and you don’t even know it. To remove Facebook from your desktop, follow these steps:
- Open the Start menu and type “cmd” (without the quotes) and hit enter.
- Type “netstat -a” and hit enter.
- If Facebook is listed as a result, it will be removed from your desktop. If not, continue to step 4.
Go to your Start menu, right-click the Facebook app, and choose Uninstall.
Tap Account Ownership and Control on the left side of the screen. Tap Deactivation and Deletion under Account Ownership and Control. Select Delete Account, then Continue to Account Deletion. Make a decision for deletion, or go straight to account de-activation by selecting Continue to Account Deletion.
To deactivate or delete your account, go to “Settings and click the tab in the top right corner. Select “Your Facebook Information. Then choose “Deactivation or deletion,” followed by “Continue.
Scroll down and click Settings. Tap Account Ownership and Control under Your Facebook Information. Deactivation and deletion are selected. Select Deactivate Account then Continue to Account Deactivation from the drop-down menu. Confirm by following the on-screen instructions.
Facebook stores all of your settings, photos, and data if you deactivate your account in case you decide to reactivate it. Your information isn’t entirely deleted; rather, it’s simply hidden. With no method to restore, however, deleting your account permanently is possible.
