If you have lost your Hotmail account, or if it has been stolen, you can reinstall it by following these steps:
- Log in to your Hotmail account and click on the “My Account” link.
- In the “Account Details” section, click on the “Hotmail reinstall” button.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the process.
Visit account.live.com/acsr and enter the Hotmail address you’d want to recover. After that, type in the email address that Microsoft may use to contact you. Confirm your email address, verify the security code, and complete the procedure as directed on the screen. Within 24 hours of submitting your request, Microsoft should respond back
You can reactivate your Microsoft account after it has been deleted for 60 days. By entering your login details, you can reactivate your account. You are unable to modify the sign-in settings of your primary Outlook account.
If you still can’t access your Outlook account, it might be due to a forgotten password, traveling, or switching devices. If you remember your password but it isn’t valid, make sure Caps Lock is turned off and that your email address is correctly spelled.
A Hotmail account is actually an Outlook.com account. Simply use https://outlook.live.com/, log in with your Hotmail address and password, and you’ll be able to access your mail. In 2012, Hotmail was renamed Outlook.com, but all addresses in use at the time were kept.
The final deadline for users of Hotmail accounts to migrate was March 14, 2017. Users who still haven’t migrated to Outlook.com by then will be disconnected from their Hotmail account.
