If you’re a Gmail user, you may be wondering how to permanently delete emails from your account on your iPhone. Here’s how:
- Open the Gmail app on your iPhone.
- Type “delete” in the top left corner of the main screen and hit “delete.”
- Type “x” in the bottom left corner and hit “delete.”
To begin, open the folder that holds the emails you wish to delete. To the left of one message, you wish to remove, tap the circular contact symbol. You may then choose to remove all of them at once by clicking the delete button.
I’m not sure if you’re able to remove emails from your iPhone’s Mail app, but that’s the case. To alter it, go to Settings > Passwords & Accounts > Gmail > select your account at the top of the screen > Advanced> Deleted Mailbox, then Trash it and see whether this resolves your problem in the Mail app
Is the email deleted from your iPhone? If it’s in the Deleted folder, that’s OK. Because your iPhone has its own file of the email, that’s what happens. They resurface in your inbox.
To erase a single email, simply swipe left on it. Alternatively, touch and hold the email from your Inbox before tapping the Trash icon that appears. Tap the Archive button or Trash button if you’re attempting to remove a message from within an email.
The message you’re attempting to send is preventing your phone from syncing. You remove it, but your phone won’t sync, so the message resurfaces in your inbox 10 seconds later. Delete the messages from your email account using the web page login.
