When you merge two ledgers in Tally ERP 9, you will need to create a new ledger and name it “merged_ledgers”. You will also need to create a new table called “merged_ledgers” and add the following fields:

  1. Ledger Name
  2. Ledger Number
  3. Ledger Type
  4. Currency Code
  5. Date of Birth 1) In the “Ledger Name” field, enter the name of the newly merged ledger. This should be something unique and easy to remember. For example, if you merged two ledgers called “Account1” and “Account2”, then your ledger name would be “Merged_Accounts”.
  1. In the “Ledger Number” field, enter the number of the newly merged ledger. This should be unique and easy to remember too. For example, if you merged two ledgers called “Account1” and “Account2”, then your ledger number would be 2. You can also use numbers that are multiples of 10 or 100 (e.g., 1000000 or 10 million). However, these numbers must be entered in quotation marks because they are not case-sensitive!
  2. In the “Ledger Type” field, enter either an account number or a currency code (e.g., USD). The account number is important because it will be used to identify each account in your new ledger when you view it in Tally ERP 9! The currency code is important because it will show which currencies are being used in your transactions! For example, if you merged two ledgers called USD and CHF, then your ledger type would be CHF/USD. 4) In the “Date of Birth” field, enter the date of birth of each individual in your new ledger! This is important because it will show when they were born and how old they are! 5
