If you’ve ever had to delete your WhatsApp account after changing your number, you’re not alone. The app has a feature called “deleting your account” that allows you to do just that. To use this feature, first open WhatsApp and sign in with your new number. Then, under the “Accounts” tab, click on the “Deleting my account” link. Once you’ve clicked on the link, WhatsApp will ask for your old number’s verification code. Once you provide this code, WhatsApp will delete your old account and create a new one with the new number.
When you change your phone number, all of your previous conversations are erased. It will also remove the account connected with your former phone number, so your contacts will no longer be able to view it in their WhatsApp contact list.
It is not possible to deactivate WhatsApp on a different device. If you backed up your phone using Google Drive, iCloud, or OneDrive before it went missing, you might be able to retrieve your chat history.
To add a new phone number, tap the “New” button and type in your desired number. In the upper text box, input your old phone number. In the lower text box, input your new phone number. At the top of the screen, click Done.
After that, follow these steps: Hold down the message (or messages) to select it. Tap on the Trashcan button with a trashcan icon to delete it.
