If you’re feeling like your PSN account is just taking up space and you don’t use it anymore, deleting it is the best way to go. Here’s how:
- Log in to your PSN account.
- Select “Account Management” from the main menu.
- Select “Deactivate Your Account.”
- Enter your password if prompted and click “Activate Your Account.” ..
Go to Settings on your PS4. Select Login Settings from the drop-down menu. In the drop-down, select User Management. On the User Management screen, pick Delete User. A list of users will be displayed on the next screen; choose the one you wish to remove. Select Delete.
Any memberships and concessions linked to those subscriptions will be canceled. You will no longer have access to your PSN wallet. Funds in your PSN wallet cannot be returned because they are governed by the Terms of Service.
You can still recover your PSN account even if you don’t have access to your email address, however, you’ll need to contact PlayStation Customer Support directly. Make sure you bring the following information with you: The credit card used to buy things on the account.
Is it possible to utilize the same email address to establish another account if I cancel my existing one? Yes, after PS support has confirmed the cancellation. However, your username cannot be reused.
Sony has updated the PlayStation Network Terms of Service (ToS) in July 2016 to include the following provision for those with inactive accounts: You may close your Account by sending us a message using the contact information below. If you haven’t used your account in at least 24 months, we may terminate it.
