If you’ve ever used Spotify to listen to music, then you’re probably familiar with the process of deleting your account. This guide will help you delete your old Spotify account in a way that’s easy and efficient.

  1. Log into your Spotify account.
  2. Click on the “Accounts” tab.
  3. Scroll down and click on the “Deactivate Account” button.
  4. Enter your desired information into the “Deactivation Details” field and click on the “Delete Account” button.
  5. Your old Spotify account will be deleted and you’ll need to create a new one if you want to continue using it!

If you cancel your account, you will not be able to use your existing Spotify username again; however, you will be able to create a new account with the same email address. You won’t have access to any of your playlists or followers anymore. You’ll lose all of the music stored in your library as well.

Click Login in the upper right corner and sign in to your Spotify account using your credentials. Close your account by clicking close account. After you’ve confirmed it, click close account.

Go to your account page. Go to the Your Plan section. Select Change Plan from the drop-down menu. Choose Spotify Free from the drop-down menu. Cancel Premium should be selected from the drop-down list. Confirm by clicking on Yes or OK.

Delete the item from your “Recently Played” list by clicking the three-dot menu icon. In the options menu that appears, choose “Remove From Recently Played” and then click OK. The item will be removed from the “Recently Played” list after you click the button.

This must be completed manually, and we attempt to contact everyone as soon as feasible, which is typically within 24 hours. Thank you for your continued support.
